 Description

Cant find in the storage FAQ or any of the storage doc's that extents are done on a per DB level, rather than per collection. Can we add some documentation being clear on this?

Sorry, upon second review, I think this question is misleading:

Extents all belong to a database, in that extents describe a portion of the database file, but beyond that every extent belongs to a single collection. Collections may have many extents (and indexes have their own related extents) but an extent is never part of more than one database. So basically I'm not sure what the FAQ question would be that would address this point, and I'm not sure that even so this is that "frequent" of a question.

I think the manual needs a better account of the storage system, but that's a much larger project that we can create issues for as needed, when that becomes a priority. I'm going to go ahead and close this ticket, but if I've misunderstood a part of this ticket, please feel free to reopen and we can address the specific issue at hand.
