 Description

Relaying user feedback:

Please tell your documentation team that the documentation is disorganized and hard to follow. Throughout the replica set installation and configuration, I had to search in multiple places for appropriate documentation, and even then it was incomplete, contradictory, and often counter-intuitive. I finally resolved most of the issues through trial and error.

I was unable to obtain specific complaints. The topics covered in the ticket were

  • setting up secondary reads
  • private interconnect for replication
  • setting up init scripts for auto startup/shutdown for the mongod service
  • configuring bind_ip and /etc/hosts

I am opening this so that we can potentially improve our public cookbooks to take into account real-world implementations.
