In this page https://docs.mongodb.org/manual/core/security-encryption-at-rest/#encryption-process the term system key is used for what we now call the master key master key - The key used to encrypt the database keys and the system key (labeled system key in the referenced docs page) system key - The key used to encrypt the WT metadata (we probably don't need to mention that key in the docs) |

My suspicion is that that is indeed the system key used to encrypt WT metadata, since we correctly use master key everywhere else on that page, but I wanted to double check. |
