 Description   

Because of issues in bulk insert, to be truly safe an application must verify bulk inserts via application logic - getLastError() is required but not sufficient. Versions < 2.4.

yes. this is less a driver issue and more a mongos behavior with regard to batch insert issue

Would this still be the case with the new default GLE behavior in the drivers?

Application logic might be doing a query for each document to verify it was correctly inserted, for example. safe/getLastError calls with bulk inserts is not sufficient.
