 Description

The replica set elections page says

Replica set members send heartbeats (pings) to each other every two seconds. If a heartbeat does not return within 10 seconds, the other members mark the delinquent member as inaccessible.

We position MongoDB as being able to failover within 2 seconds now so this does not seem to match protocol v1

It has been a while since I logged this but the page I reference says 10 seconds, but it should point to the parameter you reference (and could say maybe by default 10 seconds). As it currently stands, it says it takes 10 seconds to mark a node as down independent of what the actual setting is.

I think we're still okay with 10 seconds?

https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/reference/replica-configuration/#rsconf.settings.electionTimeoutMillis  (for pv1) defaults to 10 seconds.

Let me know if I'm misunderstanding.
