The important conditions of using $bucket should be hilighted in some way, with a bold header or something, e.g.

Important notes for use

  • $bucket only outputs documents for non-empty buckets (i.e. buckets with count greater than or equal to one).
  • Output is always in the order of the buckets. The default category, if optionally supplied, is always last.
  • Be aware of integer vs. floating point values for boundaries as they are not type-interchangable through the drivers. Also, the default category can be a completely different type, e.g. "unknown" (a String) vs. the boundaries which are integers.
