The step here "(Ubuntu 16.04-only) Create systemd service file" is incorrect. Following these instructions alone doesn't ensure MongoDB starts up on reboot. A call to systemctl doesn't see this file. I copied the contents of that file to "/etc/systemd/system/mongodb.service" instead and then ran: sudo systemctl enable mongodb And then on reboot mongodb starts up as expected. |

That step is gone now that our packages handle this step themselves. |
