| Description |
|
The new 3.4 tools add support for dumping views with mongodump. The default behavior is to dump each view's metadata, so that they are restored as functional views. mongodump has a new option --viewsAsCollections. When specified, mongodump will dump the data produced by each applicable view without any metadata, so they can be restored as standard collections in another database. A --viewsAsCollections dump will not contain any data from standard collections in the source database. Older versions of mongodump are incapable of dumping views. Attempting to use a 3.2 version of mongodump to do so will fail. |
