 Description

The repairDatabase command compacts all collections in the database. It is identical to running the compact command on each collection individually.

repairDatabase reduces the total size of the data files on disk. It also recreates all indexes in the database.

My understanding is that compact does not free disk space on MMAP. If this is also the case with repairDatabase, I think it should be mentioned here.
