Current default limit of 100 MB was chosen fairly conservatively and allows for a useful retention period of 4-5 days on a typical busy replica set. With the addition of new metrics for 3.4 the retention period has crept downwards, so we could increase the default data retention to an amount tbd, such as 150, 200, or 250 MB. |
