The installation instructions initially say, "The Debian package management tools (i.e. dpkg and apt) ensure package consistency and authenticity by requiring that distributors sign packages with GPG keys." Then step 1 says, "The **Ubuntu** package management tools (i.e. dpkg and apt) ensure package consistency..." [my emphasis] Step 1 then goes on to specify an apt-key command using ubuntu.com I do not know whether this is intentional or whether Ubuntu and Debian are being mixed up – I am not an expert in package management and simply wished to try out MongoDB on Debian, having had no problems installing software such as Node and Go. |

It seems like this was fixed through some other ticket as I no longer find an instance of Ubuntu mentioned on the debian page. |
