 Description

In the Production Notes Ubuntu 16.04 is listed among supported systems, but not among recommended. Is it an omission in documentation or there is a reason? What reason?

Hi Hrvoje,

Ubuntu 16.04 was released about 5 months after MongoDB 3.2.0 and official packages are only available for MongoDB 3.2.7+. This is certainly a supported operating system option for recent releases of MongoDB, but the recommended production platforms are those with broader version support and user feedback/testing.

I'm not aware of any open issues specific to Ubuntu 16.04, but would always recommend installing the latest MongoDB point release for your production series (eg. currently 3.2.10 for MongoDB 3.2.x).

Note: I moved your report from the SERVER project to DOCS. The SERVER project is for reporting bugs or feature suggestions for the MongoDB server; the DOCS project is specific to feedback on documentation.

For MongoDB-related support discussion, please post on the mongodb-user group (https://groups.google.com/group/mongodb-user) or Stack Overflow with the mongodb tag.

Regards,
Stephen
