https://docs.cloudmanager.mongodb.com/tutorial/configure-available-mongodb-version/ No real idea what is meant by Git Version, or even the format of the download expected. Would be especially nice if it was clear how to make release candidates available using this "add custom build" functionality. Actually, would great if RCs were available as first class versions in the version management page, but I understand this might be difficult, particularly for major versions (i.e. I imagine that Cloud Manager/3.4 integration testing is still ongoing). That said, driving people to use other install methods for RCs will be problematic as Cloud Manager and Ops Manager become the preferred way to manage all environments, including test and dev. |

It's fairly confusing for users to understand how to deploy a custom build and this feature would greatly benefit from proper docs. Documentation on how to use a custom build using the API could also be interesting. |

That wiki looks pretty out of date, so updated instructions from would be much appreciated. Totally get that RCs don't make sense. I do that it is odd, however, to completely ignore the "Add Custom Build" functionality in our standard documentation. The UI elements are right there for everyone to see. It is not like it is a hidden feature that needs to be enabled. Maybe it should be.... |
