When a distinct command is run against a view with an underlying sharded collection, we need to rewrite the distinct to be an aggregation against the sharded collection. |

Count and distinct work on views in a sharded configuration almost exactly like on a normal collection (with the distinction that the operation on a view goes through the aggregation system, rather than the query system). So, I'm going to close this as Won't Do in the same spirit as |
