Ubuntu 14.04, with nodejs and npm installed to use with Mongodb. Perhaps nodejs has something to do with this; "/etc/apt/sources.list.d" contains the mongodb-org-3.4 list (or 3.2) and the nodesource.list Location: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-ubuntu/ |

Uninstall Mongodb error in instructions. Specifically with regard to Ubuntu 14.04 (but I believe Ubuntu 16.04 has the same issue). This may or may not be due to installing nodejs and npm to use alongside Mongodb. You give clear instructions but leave out one last step: To completely purge you must cd into: /etc/apt/sources.list.d There you will find; mongodb-org-3.4.list (or 3.2.list). It needs deleting or you will not be able reinstall without problems. |
