Deployed all three branches, redirected / to /v2.0 rather than /master, and added a note about --fork (and removed its option documentation).

Please add a note about BI-909 as Bryan mentioned above.

Comment by Rathi Gnanasekaran [ 01/Mar/17 ]

andrew.aldridge the release is now available on the download center so you can publish the release notes now. Also note we have updated the release to be 2.1-rc0 (previously beta1).

Comment by Bryan Reinero [ 28/Feb/17 ]

Due to BI-909 the connector will no longer have a ''--fork' option. Users will instead need to run mongsqld as a background process with nohup to run as a daemon process. We should note this change in the release notes and provide a command line example.

nohup bi-connector/bin/mongosqld --schemaDirectory=schema --logPath=logs/mongosqld.log --addr=172.31.42.65:3307 -vvvv --mongo-uri=172.31.42.65:27017 &

We should also to a new Document on how to run the connector as Windows service DOCSP-335

Here's my list:

  • Substantial performance improvements for some common JOIN scenarios
  • Improvements to index utilization by pushing $match stages earlier in the aggregation pipeline
  • More SQL functions and operators are pushed down to the aggregation pipeline
  • Support for additional SQL language features, such as ``USE`` and ``SHOW CREATE TABLE `` statements, ``STRAIGHT_JOIN``,
the unary plus (``+``) operator, and the ``INTERVAL`` keyword in :ref:`date arithmetic <sql-date-and-time>`.

Draft change list. Should I add more detail? Less? Anything that should/shouldn't be mentioned?

  • Support ODBC syntax in the SQL parser.
  • Support more SQL language features, such as ``STRAIGHT_JOIN``,
the unary plus (``+``) operator, and the ``INTERVAL`` keyword
    in :ref:`date arithmetic <sql-date-and-time>`.
  • Fix privilege lookups for users authenticating against databases
having a capital letter in their name.
  • More operations are pushed down to the MongoDB server.
