The current (v3.4) installation manual for MongoDB on Ubuntu: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-ubuntu/ Is missing a step to create systemd file for Ubuntu 16.04, as listed on MongoDB v3.2 manual. This step is necessary in Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial to be performed before users be able to use `service mongod`. https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-ubuntu/#start-mongodb |

wan.bachtiar I can't reproduce this issue. Our packages are correctly installing the systemd service file on Ubuntu 16.04. Can you provide a complete shell session displaying the problem? |

The 3.2 instructions were a temporary workaround until the packages were updated to contain the systemd service file. I'll check the packages tomorrow, but if they aren't installing the service file, it's a BUILD issue. |
