Time-series collections will allow the createIndexes and listIndexes command.

Description of Linked Ticket

Epic Summary

Summary

Support creating secondary indexes on time-series collections.

Motivation

While the default time-series indexes support queries on time and metadata as a whole, there are many use cases where secondary indexes on specific meta-data subfields or arbitrary fields from measurements are required for efficient query execution.

Closing as won't do as Driver leads looked at the downstream changes in the design and do not think drivers need to make any changes.
