Description of Linked Ticket

Epic Summary

Summary

Add query rewrites to support processing of bucketized time-series collections. In particular, indexing on time.

Motivation

Time-series collections provide a user-friendly data model of one document per event. Internally, for performance and space reasons, the data is stored in a bucketed format and buckets are indexed on time. Queries referencing such collections need to be rewritten internally to appropriately locate the necessary buckets and uncompress events during processing.
