It would be nice to be able to quickly see the changes made in version of the unified test format schema (e.g. like we do for wire version features: https://github.com/mongodb/specifications/blob/master/source/wireversion-featurelist.rst). This would help driver authors find what incremental changes they need to make to the unified test format runners when doing spec work. Today, the only way to do this is manually diff the schema version files. This is a test only change. Sorry this doesn't use the template--I had already filled it out and Jira discarded it all when the ticket failed to create due to the lack of component. |

patrick.freed@mongodb.com: I started writing this but realized it's not as trivial as reporting changes between schema versions. For instance, the only schema change between 1.1 and 1.2 was the addition of storeEventsAsEntities, but the loop operation was also introduced in that version. Rather than create a separate changelog with redundant information, it may be better to just amend the existing Change Log section and note when schema versions were bumped. Thoughts? |
