 Description

We are running on mongo version 2.6.5.

we are using mongo as our main data store and any issue with it in any environment (reference, performance, production) creates lot of problems for us.

We recently faced issue in our performance environment where we saw number of connection accepted by mongo increased to 31685 and then server crashed giving exception as "can't create new thread, closing connection".

there are 2 things we wanted to highlight as issues :
1. why number of connection increased to very high value (30K) even it was restricted at application to have only 2K
2. why the DB crashed at 31685 connections while soft and hard limit for the user is set to 64000.

your help/suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Hi Nitish,

The JAVA Jira project is intended to report bugs in and request improvements to the MongoDB Java driver. For more general questions like the one posed here, I suggest that you start a thread on the MongoDB Users mailing list.

For server crashes, please open an issue in the SERVER project.

Regards,
Jeff
