My application was developed several years ago. It use mongodb-java-driver version 2.x , which heavily depend on DBCollection. Now I want to use transactions. I upgrade to MongoDB 4.0 and mongodb-java-driver 3.8.0. But find that I can not use ClientSession with DBCollection. If I use MongoCollection to replace DBCollection, it's a lot of work, almost whole re-writing of my application. Is there any plan to add ClientSession to DBCollection? Thanks.

Hi xbwen, Just to let you know, having reviewed the ClientSession API there are no plans to update the DBCollection API to include ClientSession support. As such I'm closing this ticket as "Won't Fix". If you or others feel strongly that it should be included please comment - if there is enough support this decision will be revisited. Many thanks, Ross |

Hi xbwen We're definitely aware of this shortcoming. I wouldn't say we have a plan quite yet, but we are considering options to make it easier to use ClientSession and DBCollection together. I'll respond on this ticket when we are further along with our plan. |
