An issue with the 4.3.1 Java driver version, where the driver does not consider specific write operations to be retriable, most specifically on sharded cluster. It is captured in this support ticket 00757098: unable to retry write in Test Failover. Here is the ticket they raised on the feedback engine: https://feedback.mongodb.com/forums/924280-database/suggestions/44138718-retrywrite-error-fixed-in-mongodb-4-4
