 Description

We added a clean node to our replica set yesterday. It took about 5-6 hours to sync. Everything seemed fine except when we turned on reads we saw terrible perf. In looking, there are no indexes on this node. Just the defaults for _1.

What did we miss? The docs I have read don't mention anything about it. Please help.

Also, if you follow the instructions here
http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/tutorial/expand-replica-set/
with mongodb v2.0.x you corrupt your configuration and hose your database. You cannot add a replica set node while mongod is running on that node. We learned that the hard way. FYI.
