I wanted to play around with replica sets, but it looks like I can't set them up locally. I'd imagine this is the first thing people are going to want to try (even if it's a stupid thing to do in production) just to test them out. I did: ./mongod -replSet testing/localhost:27018 and got replSet Caught exception in management thread: can't use localhost in replset host list Maybe I'm just doing something wrong? |

use your local hostname (whoami) instead. the problem is that "localhost" means different things on different servers. so it wont' be supported. btw - it doesn't work yet regardless. wait a little longer. |
