 Description

Mongodb is running as a windows service.
Sometimes I can not use the database because the mongodb service is not running. I found that service it is in starting state.
The service can not start and remains in an infinite loop of starting.

The solution that i found is to stop the service, delete mongod.lock and then start the service again.

It is implemented in a newer version a mechanism to auto-recovery after an "unclean shutdown" ?

Thanks,
Gabriel

Hi Gabriel,

I'm closing this issue due to inactivity. If you were able to find a resolution for this problem, it would be helpful to comment on the outcome.

Thanks,
Stephen

Hi Gabriel, apologies for the delayed response. Unfortunately there is currently no way to automatically clean up after an unclean shutdown. How are you shutting down you machine in the instances where these problems occur?

Additionally, in order to you help work out this issue, please post your server's log output next time these startup problems occur.
