 Description

MongoDB seems to crash sporadically, without writing any errors to the log. When starting up again it has to recover and preallocate the journal. The crashes are occuring every few days.

This is running with a three node replica set, keyFile authentication, SSL encryption.

The last few logs before going down (the last time this happened):

Thanks for the update Nick. I'll close this ticket out then. Feel free to re-open or submit another if the problem comes up again.

Hi, apologies, I think the process was being terminated due to low memory. There was quite a bit of confusion around what was happening but I think the issue was at our end. It doesn't occur any more.

Thanks, Merry Christmas!

Hi Nick,

Are you still experiencing this issue?

Can you provide a complete mongod log file from the crashing node, which you can either attach to this ticket or upload to a secure private server which we will provide; let us know how you would like to proceed.

Given the log file then we could then provide you instructions for generating a core file when you hit the issue, which you would then upload along with the mongod binary and the mongod log file to our secure private server.

Happy Holidays!
Bruce

are there any syslog messages that correlate with the shutdown?
