 Description

We are making extensive use of the Agg Pipeline for our Mongo Analytics OLAP project and Distinct Count is one of the most common and popular aggregations requested in OLAP solutions. However, we cannot find native support for distinct count as an agg pipeline aggregation.

Is this something that is planned for support in the Mongo agg pipeline or are we missing something?

Hi Mark,

Please be advised I'm closing this issue due to inactivity.

Per the comment from Eliot, it seems like there are ways to calculate your desired outcome using the aggregation framework.

If that isn't the case, please feel free to reopen with additional details.

Thanks,
Stephen

Unless I'm misunderstanding, you can do a group followed by another group.
i.e. first group by what you want be unique, then group by something arbitrary to do a count
