Running write_result.js with --shell-write-mode=compatibility will give error that a basic update operation returns nModified==0 instead of 1. The same error arise in basic multi-update test case. |

This is by design because nModified is not returned on the getLastError path (either by mongod nor mongos in a sharded config). nModified is only returned for write commands in the new api. |
