An install from MSI of a higher version of mongodb will remove a lower version install even if they are both installed in custom locations. See reproduction for more detail. Also note that you cannot install via MSI a lower version than you have currently installed. This may be a separate, but somewhat related bug. |

This is the current design, as there's a globally unique product code in the registry. Users who want to install more than one version on the same machine can use the provided .zip files and install in custom locations. |
