In the MongoDB shell, we are able to type "show dbs" instead of "show databases" to list the databases, which is very convenient. But when it comes to listing collections, we must spell out the full "show collections" every single time, which gets old pretty quick. Could you please add a "show colls" shorthand for this, similar to "show dbs"? This should be a trivial change, yet it would be immensely appreciated by sysadmins spending their days in the MongoDB shell... |

Oh wow, how did I miss that one! Thanks for the tip, and apologies for the noise, I'm still relatively new to MongoDB. Feel free to close this ticket, "show tables" is more than adequate. |

Ivan - the shell does already have a "show tables" shorthand. |
