| Description |

Currently the log format flattens numeric levels to "D". It would be very helpful to know the number as well as the letter. |

I think replacing D with the log level value would be fine. |

It would helpful when communicating what log level needs to be set for someone else to see those message for example. It is also important when reading the logs to suggest logging level changes and to check those levels. Specifically I was thinking of debug levels for verbose logging. |

There is only a meaningful number for the debug log levels, which all report letter D. We could replace D with the number, I suppose, but why? |

What number are you referring to? Would it be the syslog numbers? They would conflict with the debug log level numbers, and also might cause confusion since the numbers will have no relation to the verbosity level. |
