 Description

--dbpath is now deprecated for use with all mongo cmd line tools mongodump, mongoexport, mongoimport, mongorestore, mongofiles and should be both hidden from --help and give a useful error msg when users attempt to pass it.

Produces following error message:

2014-11-15T08:01:49.363-0500 error getting database names: error connecting to db server: no reachable servers

Docs team is planning to update the link with more details. See DOCS-4397

Comment by Eric Milkie [ 24/Nov/14 ]

Right now, the error message doc link just forwards to the 2.8 Release Notes, which do not mention anything about the tools or deprecation of --dbpath.

This is already fixed in rc1, error message is

$ ./bin/mongodump --dbpath /data/db
2014-11-24T09:39:29.675-0500	error parsing command line options: --dbpath and related flags are not supported in 2.8 tools.
