Hi, I'm trying to run mongodb on my gentoo box. If I try to run mongo without the server being started, I get a connection refused error and the client gracefully exits as everyone would expect. If the server is running, I always get the following error message at the very beginning of the startup of mongo: MongoDB shell version: 2.6.6 I get the same error for every version that I tried, 2.6.6, 2.6.7, 2.6.8. Anyone any suggestions? If you need any further information do not hesitate to ask me. Cheers |

Ok, after further investigations I found out that But nevertheless it gave me some hints how to fix my problem: playing around with the -march flag. I changed my -march from corei7-avx to core2, recompiled mongo and now it works fine. But: my system has a i7-2720QM which supports avx, the corei7-avx is definitely the correct -march instruction set switch for this cpu. So I still suppose this is a bug of mongo. But for my special case i was able to fix it. Cheers |
