ja6603@att.com, please note that the SERVER project is for reporting bugs or feature suggestions for the MongoDB server. For MongoDB-related support discussion please post on the mongodb-user group or Stack Overflow with the mongodb tag, where your question will reach a larger audience. The questions above would be best posted on the mongodb-user group. Regards, |

I am very new to this database. I came across two options for turning this feature off, do these look correct? update configuration file or during startup |

I would recommend auditing your clients. Without knowing more more about your application architecture it's hard to to recommend the best way to do this. Additionally, it looks like we add this start up warning if you have the textSearchEnabled flag set. If you're using 2.6, this flag not required to use $text search, so it should be safe to remove, if you're sure that you're not using the text command in any operation. Cheers, |

Is there a way to see who is performing the queries using the depreciated method? |

The text command was deprecated in MongoDB 2.6, and replaced by the $text operator. See the documentation for the text command and the $text operator for more information, as well as the release notes for this change. Particularly as you upgrade in the future, ensure that your applications don't use the text command to search full text indexes, as this interface may be removed in a future version of MongoDB. You can still use the $text to search full text indexes. I'm going to go ahead and close this ticket. I hope this helps. Cheers, |
