Hi, I would like to know if MongoDB has a watchdog when we run it as a windows service? What happens if the server crashes ... will it restartes or we have to do it manually ? |

Hi vinhent, I hope Mark's answer provided the information you needed. Please note that the SERVER project is for reporting bugs or feature suggestions for the MongoDB server. For MongoDB-related support discussion please post on the mongodb-user group or Stack Overflow with the mongodb tag, where your question will reach a larger audience. A question like this is a good candidate for posting in mongodb-user group. See also our Technical Support page for additional support resources. Regards, |

Whether the service restarts automatically, is configurable. In the services.msc, you can control how Windows handles the MongoDB process crashing by configuring the action to take on failure in the Recovery tab. The API to control this is SERVICE_FAILURE_ACTIONS via the ChangeServiceConfig2 API. |
