 Description

My instance of Mongo (2 nodes and 1 arbiter) is using the SWAP memory. It would be OK if it were only that, but the problem is that it never releases this memory even when there is available RAM. What to do?

lucasoares, what memory pages are put on swap is up to the OS, so this doesn't look like a bug in MongoDB – please note that the SERVER project is for reporting bugs or feature suggestions for the MongoDB server. For MongoDB-related support discussion please post on the mongodb-user group or Stack Overflow with the mongodb tag, where your question will reach a larger audience. A question like this involving more discussion would be best posted on the mongodb-user group. See also our Technical Support page for additional support resources.

Regards,
Ramón.

Lucas,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I wanted to check and see what version of MongoDB you were running, and if you're using MongoDB 3.0, which storage engine are you using?

Additionally, if you're using MongoDB 2.6 or earlier, or MongoDB 3.0 with the default MMAPv1 storage engine, consider these FAQ which may address some of your questions.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
sam
