| Description |

The option to specify a projection to a find query in benchRun is named "filter". This option is misnamed; it should be named "projection". This ticket also requires changes to the mongo-perf repository (the "simple query" suite includes query test cases that depend on the naming of this option). |

david.storch be aware that this might require changes in mongo-perf as well as we use the misnamed "filter" a lot. The tests would not just need to be updated, but we would have to make sure to send the correct version to shells using the fixed as well as old option. |

ryan.timmons, I'm going to have the query team re-triage this. It's very confusing to us with the current naming, since "filter" and "projection" typically mean radically different things (roughly speaking, selecting rows versus projecting columns). |

Closing as wont-fix to indicate that there is currently no intention of doing this. Please re-open if there is priority for this. Perhaps this change could self-service by an appropriate server team if this is necessary rather than having to go thru the STM prioritization queue. |
