 Description

I symlinked the var lib mongodb to a drive with space

sudo mkdir -p /mnt/newdrive2/var/lib/mongodb/journal
sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mongodb/*
sudo ln -s /var/lib/mongodb/ /mnt/newdrive2/var/lib/mongodb/
sudo /etc/init.d/mongodb restart

yet it still complains:
```
Sun Oct 25 07:28:29.066 [initandlisten] journal dir=/var/lib/mongodb/journal
Sun Oct 25 07:28:29.066 [initandlisten] recover : no journal files present, no recovery needed
Sun Oct 25 07:28:29.066 [initandlisten]
Sun Oct 25 07:28:29.066 [initandlisten] ERROR: Insufficient free space for journal files
Sun Oct 25 07:28:29.066 [initandlisten] Please make at least 3379MB available in /var/lib/mongodb/journal or use --smallfiles
No worries jamesmikedupont@gmail.com, hope your MongoDB installation is up and running again.
Cheers,
Ramón.
Thanks! stupid my mistake. I thought this was a bug with the server and this would be the right spot.
jamesmikedupont@gmail.com, in addition to the issue with argument order that Eliot pointed out above you may also need to remove the /var/lib/mongodb directory or adjust your dbpath accordingly.
Also please note that the SERVER project is for reporting bugs or feature suggestions for the MongoDB server. For MongoDB-related support discussion please post on the mongodb-user group or Stack Overflow with the mongodb tag, where your question will reach a larger audience. A question like this involving more discussion would be best posted on the mongodb-user group. See also our Technical Support page for additional support resources.
Regards,
Ramón.
The ln command is backwards above.
Should be
sudo ln -s /mnt/newdrive2/var/lib/mongodb /var/lib/mongodb
