 Description

I have a system with 2 shard where each shard is a replica set

in my 3 server run:

1 mongod for replicaset 1
1 mongod for replicaset 2
1 mongod --cfg
1 mongos

after few hours the mongod instance are killed by oom-killer, on dmesg I have:

[12179.894393] Out of memory: kill process 4747 (mongod) score 378148 or a child
[12179.896914] Killed process 4747 (mongod)

I try the test with mongo 1.8.2 and seems fixed

Last comment had wrong permissions.
Can you try with 1.8.3 or 2.0.0-rc0.
There were a bunch of memory leaks fixed.

Are you running on openvz by any chance?

  • the system is running on vmware ESX4

Do you have any graphs of memory usage?

  • no, but now I start a test with mongostat I will send you the report.

cheers
Andrea

What would be great is to run with mongostat so we can correlate to what's going on
