Starting mongod with --fork seems to not generate a core dump on Linux. The text "core dumped" does not appear at the end of the log and there is no change in disk space usage. egrep "Units|core" /proc/<mongod-pid>/limits reports unlimited This issue doesn't appear on OS X |

Moving this ticket to the Backlog and removing the "Backlog" fixVersion as per our latest policy for using fixVersions. |
