 Description

Starting mongod with --fork seems to not generate a core dump on Linux. The text "core dumped" does not appear at the end of the log and there is no change in disk space usage.

egrep "Units|core" /proc/<mongod-pid>/limits reports unlimited

This issue doesn't appear on OS X
