| Description |
|
There should be a better error message that includes what database doesn't exist, and be clear that the error is that the requested database doesn't exist. Something like "Database doesn't exist: databaseName" instead of just "no database". I was told the server is the right place for this rather than the driver: https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/NODE-648 Related to: https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/NODE-595 |

Apologies for the radio silence fresheneesz. I'm setting the fixversion of this ticket to "Needs Triage" so it gets taken into consideration in the next round of planning. Regards, |

The ticket I linked has the case where I was seeing the message: https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/NODE-595 . But "no database" isn't an acceptable error message in any case. ALL of those various places you're finding in the code should likely be changed to a more understandable error message. |

fresheneesz, I see the "no database" message in various places in the code. Can you please provide more details on what operations trigger this message for you? Thanks, |
