 Description

Hello,

I'm using Solaris 10 and want to install MongoDB 3.2.4. Installation itself is fine but the startup failed with the following error

[ Apr 6 14:35:44 Executing start method ("/opt/mongo/bin/start_mongodb") ]
ld.so.1: mongod: fatal: libsocket.so.1: version 'SUNW_1.7' not found (required by file /usr/local/mongodb-solaris-x86_64-3.2.4/bin/mongod)
ld.so.1: mongod: fatal: libsocket.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory
/opt/mongo/bin/start_mongodb: line 9: 5664 Killed /opt/mongo/bin/mongod --config /opt/etc/mongo/mongodb.cfg $MONGO_PARAM
[ Apr 6 14:35:44 Method "start" exited with status 137 ]

After browsing the internet I read that MongoDB 3.2.X is compiled using Solaris 11. Is there a way to fix this issue on Solaris 10 or do I have to switch to Solaris 11?

Thanks and advance.
Regards,
Daniel Heitepriem

Hi mira.carey@mongodb.com,

thank you very much for your answer. Alright, I will take how we can solve this problem internally.

semirben,

Unfortunately we do not support Solaris 10 at this time. You'll need to upgrade to Solaris 11 if you'd like to use newer versions of MongoDB.

Jason

Hi guys,

do you need more information regarding this issue? At the moment it blocks us from publishing a new application which uses 'join' and many other new functions (the last version we used was 2.4)

Thanks and regards,
Daniel
