 Description

Would be nice to have a string occurrence operator(less expensive than regex), like this:

db.coll.find( { servername :{ $substr : "node0" }} )

Yes, the functionality planned in the aggregation framework (https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-8951) will meets my needs.

ashevchuk, while it's already possible to use $regex and $text to find a substring within a string, we have SERVER-8951 to add such functionality to the aggregation framework – can you please review SERVER-8951 and see if the functionality planned there will meet your needs?

Thanks,
Ramón.
