Moving from --options to VARIABLES lost the discoverability of --help. As an example, the only way I see to find the VARIANT_DIR setting is searching in the SConstruct file. |

I think the output of --help is controlled by SCons, not us. Perhaps there is a way to amend it? I'm not sure. I agree the two level thing is not ideal. |

acm Ahh, I missed that since the variable-related options aren't well grouped in --help. Any reason not to just include it in --help rather than adding a second level? |
