Please log how much data was copied in an initial sync. This size would include the total size of all the collections copied plus the total size of the opLog documents copied. We already know how long the initial sync takes. With the total data copied, we could calculate MB/s, and perhaps highlight out I/O problems. |

I'm not clear how this would help highlight I/O problems, I'm also not sure what 'data size' would be useful to report here - the size on disk, the size as it went over the wire, the compressed or uncompressed size, etc? Not really sure what would we do here that would result in any meaningful, actionable feedback. |
