 Description

I did a brew install mongo to install version 3.2.11. When I open up mongo terminal I am getting warning:

    • WARNING: Access control ins not enabled for the database.
    • Read and write access to data and configuration is unrestricted.

I searched the tickets and found ticket SERVER-23796 which indicates this was fixed earlier this year in version 3.2.6. I am running version 3.4.0 database and 3.4.0 shell and am getting this warning.

Hi ratracegrad,

We haven’t heard back from you for some time, so I’m going to mark this ticket as resolved. If this is still an issue for you, please provide additional information and we will reopen the ticket.

Hi ratracegrad,

Thanks for the report. I have a couple questions to better understand what is going on here.

  1. Would you please clarify how you are starting the mongod and provide the config file if you are using one?
  2. Would you please clarify how you are connecting the mongod when you encounter this warning? e.g. provide the complete command using mongo.

Thank you,
Thomas
