 Description

We have upgraded MongoDB version to 3.4 for my application. I am facing performance degradation issue. After upgrading MongoB version from 2.9 to 3.4, CPU usage for the application is increasing automatically. Why am I facing this issue? Why performance degrade after upgrading the MongoDB version? Is there any specific thing on which I have to concern?

Hi Ravi44,

We haven’t heard back from you for some time, so I’m going to mark this ticket as resolved. If this is still an issue for you, please provide additional information and we will reopen the ticket.

Thomas

Hi Ravi,

What you have described sounds like the issue captured in WT-3158. If this is the case, then downgrading temporarily to 3.4.3 should recover the missing performance, as WT-3158 impacts only 3.4.4.

The fixes in WT-3158 should be included in the next point release of MongoDB 3.4

If this does not recover the performance then I would need significantly more detail from you in order to understand the nature of the regression. If the regression is still present when running 3.4.3 then please detail in full your server configuration, mongodb configuration and the nature of your workload. Additionally please upload the diagnostic.data file from both 3.4.4 and 3.2 with details and timing of when the regression was present and how you measured it.

Regards,
David
