| Description |

Shutdown from shell seems to occur, but throws an exception while doing so. Could be due to changes in the shell API wrt findOne(). |

I can no longer reproduce the behavior noted in this ticket. |

yes, if you have the mongos logs for this problem, it would be useful to see them along with a short description of your setup - how hosts do you have, are they configured in replica sets or sharded, how long have they been running when you see this issue? |

On our Linux servers, calling db.shutdownServer() for a mongod process will occasionally cause CPU usage to ramp up and stay at 100%, rendering our ssh sessions unresponsive. Unfortunately, the log files do not seem to contain anything relevant to this issue, even with -vvv logging enabled. However, if you would like to look at them, we can attach them to this issue. |

Docs should be updated as well, once behavior is normalized. |
