 Description

Detected by our latest C Driver tests, in all topology types:

https://evergreen.mongodb.com/task/mongo_c_driver_zseries_rhel72_test_latest_replica_set_noauth_sasl_nossl_858c4df5f58fe70f261bd82da5fd72507e604993_17_09_11_19_41_50

Which C Driver test triggers the error seems unpredictable. mongod.log attached.

Oh! Mark, can you please open a CDRIVER ticket describing what we're doing wrong? bjori and I would like to know, I don't believe we're aware that we send malformed OP_MSGs.

I am closing this as "Works as Designed".

In the linked tests, the driver sent a malformed OpMsg request to the server. The server failed the request as a result. Admittedly, the error message is not clear as to why the message is corrupt, but it is difficult to give good error messages for all possible bad messages.
